Brendan Rodgers says Jose Mourinho is correct when he says Premier League title is Manchester City's to lose

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has backed Chelsea counterpart Jose Mourinho's claim that the Premier League title is Manchester City's to lose.

Chelsea currently have a seven-point lead over second-placed Liverpool and third-placed Arsenal, who have both played a game less than Mourinho's side.

But City, due to Capital One Cup and FA Cup commitments, have three games in hands on the league leaders and would be in pole position to reclaim the title they lost last season to rivals Manchester United should they take all nine points.

“He [Mourinho] is right in saying Manchester City are the club that has the power, in terms of squad. They have three games in hand. Win them and they go the top. And they will expect to win them," Rodgers told TalkSport.

Mourinho has been accused of continuing his 'mind games' and ramping up the pressure on Manuel Pellegrini's side after thrashing Tottenham at the weekend to move seven points clear.
